The Titus Young saga continues even after the football season is over. Back in January Titus Young informed the Detroit Lions that if he wasn’t going to get the ball anymore, he doesn’t want to play. A few days later he continued his rant on the keyboard, tweeting: “Never needed the money Give me a dollar and a ball bet I come back #HallofFame.” It’s safe to say it was inevitable that it was a matter of when, not if, the Lions were going to rid themselves of the delusional wide-out.
To top off the unstable Young’s shaky off-season, news was recently made informing that Titus Young told his high school football coach that he is better than The Calvin Johnson. This is after Megatron broke Jerry Rice’s single-season receiving yards mark.
“He did tell me he thought he was just as good Megatron,” Robinson recently recalled. “I said, ‘Titus, come on.’ I said, ‘Come on, man. Who you talking to?’ I said, ‘Come on, you’re as good as that guy? This guy is the real deal.’ And he really believes this. And he was sincere about it. ‘Ah man, I’m better than him.’ I said, ‘No you’re not. Be real man. Come on.’ So I don’t know, I’m hoping for the best for him.”
Maybe Titus Young will get off to a better start in St. Louis, as they have recently picked him up off waivers. I doubt it, but the Titus Young Saga continues, and it’s official, he’s off his rocker!
