Howiewood and MLB Updates

Howie Kendrick – He’s 8 for 21 the last 5 games with 8 RBI’s and 2 Home Runs.

Edwin Encarnacion – Finally connected for his 3rd Homer of the year. He’s still batting just .208, but the whole Jays lineup is slumping. I’m not too concerned about him yet.

Jose Reyes – The Jays put him on the 60 Day DL to free room on the 40 man roster.

Starling Marte – 2 days ago Marte went 0-5 with 5 K’s, the Platinum Sombrero. Last night he went 2-5 with a SB.

Max Scherzer – His K/9 on the year is 14.2, an MLB best. His start got pushed to Wednesday as he will face the 2nd toughest team to strikeout (Kansas City Royals).

J.J. Putz – Blew another save last night to a Brandon Belt 2 run blast. Before too long David Hernandez is going to steal this role.

Fernando Rodney – His leash is only going to get shorter from here on out. Look at our Closer Updates Depth Chart by team.

Carlos Marmol – Blew another save last night. This Cubs job is Fujikawa’s when he comes back. It won’t be too long, he’s begun throwing already.

Jose Valverde – Leyland announced yesterday that Valverde is his closer. At the beginning of the year, he wanted nothing to do with him… It won’t be long until Rondon (who was just called up yesterday) steals the job.

Clayton Kershaw – Finished with 5 K’s yesterday and could only go 5 innings after totaling 111 pitches. That’s the first time he hasn’t went 6 IP since in back to back starts since 2010.

Dexter Fowler – Continued his hot streak going 4 for 9 with 1 SB in yesterday’s Double Header.

Jay Bruce

I miss Bruce homers…

The Upton Bros – Went back to back yesterday. That gave JUpton his 11th on the year. My NL MVP pick is on the right track, so far (Jinx, what Jinx?)

Tony Cingrani – Went 7 strong innings totaling 9 K’s, but didn’t get the win. He’s only 51% owned in Yahoo! leages. Go pick him up!!!

Bartolo Colon – I can’t believe I’m writing about this guy. He issued his first walk of the season yesterday and dominated the Red Sox. He owns a 2.42 ERA and 0.92 WHIP on the season. He’s only 10% owned in Yahoo! leagues.

Yovani Gallardo – A.K.A. the WHIP killer walked 5 on 8 hits only giving up 3 runs yesterday.

Matt Cain – Red flag is officially up on Cain. He hasn’t had a good outing yet this year, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a DL stint looming.

Manny Ramirez – Only Man-Ram.
