TeX Marks The Spot & MLB Updates

Mark Teixeira – Is it just me or does this guy look like the adult version of Charlie from the Tim Allen Santa Clause Movies?!? Anyways … Aiming for a June 1st return date, Tex went 1 for 2 in a simulated game this past Monday. The 33-year old is currently owned in 69% of Yahoo Leagues. If you have the room on your DL, he is worth the DL Stash for the second half of the season.

Tony Cingrani – Optioned to Triple A on Saturday, May 18th. Cingrani was potent upon arrival, yielding 41 K’s in 33 Innings and only allowed 9 Walks. For now, Cueto will take over his spot in the rotation and Leake will remain as Cincinnati’s 5th Starter.

Jurickson Profar – Baseball’s Top Prospect arrives to the show with Kinsler hitting the 15-Day DL. PICK HIM UP! Manager Ron Washington stated that Profar and Leury Garcia would split time at 2B. It doesn’t make much sense as the entire baseball world wants to see what Profar is capable of on the Major League level.

Patrick Corbin – Allowed one run and rang up 10 K’s in a complete game victory over the Colorado Rockies. He now posts a 7-0 record with a 1.44 ERA.

Jim Johnson – 3 Blown Saves in the past week. Grab Darren O’Day.

Kyle Gibson – Manager Ron Gardenhire said that Minnesota’s Top Pitching Prospect (Gibson) could get the call up this Friday. If in fact he does get called up, I do not recommend starting him this Friday vs. Detroit, but he could have a Cingrani type stat-line going forward. He’s only owned in 1% of Yahoo Leagues.

Carlos Ruiz – Will miss 3-4 weeks with a hamstring strain. CHOOCH hasn’t been the player from 2012 and I don’t expect him to get in a groove anytime soon.

Gerardo Parra – 14 for his last 37 (.378) – Parra has provided a solid spark this season. Currently, only 53% owned in Yahoo Leagues – pick him up if available.

Andre Ethier – Staredown-Showdown with umpire!

Jeremy Affedlt – With Santiago Casilla hitting the DL, Affedlt is next in line for saves, should Romo faulter.
