Patrick Corbin – Had 9 straight starts with 2 Runs of fewer and in 6 or more Innings Piched, until last night when he gave up 3 Runs.
Matt Kemp – The Cardinals intentionally walked Adrian Gonzalez to get to Matt Kemp, who struck out. Don Mattingly said earlier this week that Matt Kemp has not fully recovered from surgery. If a DL stint is likely, expect the Dodgers to call up Pederson or Puig. Kemp hasn’t whined or complained, but Mattingly told Kevin Baxter of the Los Angeles Times “He’s frustrated. The biggest thing we want to do with Matt is to try to keep the bat in the strike zone longer…when he’s going good he’s driving the ball to center, to right-center…I notice he’s cutting his swing off…if he’s top-spinning in left and left-center field, it tells me he’s getting extension to a certain point and he’s coming off just a little bit.”
Tyler Skaggs – Will start in place of Ian Kennedy tomorrow.
Ian Kennedy – Has cut on index finger – start will be pushed back. DL Stint is a possibility for Kennedy. It’s been reported Kennedy cut his finger doing the dishes a couple of days ago…
Michael Wacha – Wacha! Wacha! The Cards put Gast on the DL, but called up Michael Blazek from AA. Wacha was scheduled to start Monday at AAA instead, but was also scratched again. Continue to monitor as it’s only a matter of time before Wacha gets the call.
Cole Hamels – Allowed 5 Runs (3 earned) 6 Hits, 6 K’s and 1 Walk against the Nationals, but fell to 1-8 on the season.
Jurickson Profar – Belted his first big league HR on Sunday night vs. Seattle. Profar hasn’t exactly exploded onto the scene, but he is currently 6 for 19. Let’s hope he shows enough to stay up the remainder of the season.
Jose Bautista – Over the past 6 games, Joey Bats has went 14 for his last 25 – elevating his average this season to .295, 11 HRs and 27 RBIs.
Nick Franklin – The Mariners called up Franklin from AAA to fill their SS woes.
