The College Football Playoff is the new system in place that will determine The National Champion for College Football each year. In this new system four teams play in 2 Semifinal Games, with the winners advancing to the new College Football Championship Game.
The two Semifinal Games and 4 other Bowls are named the “New Year’s Six.” The “New Year’s Six” are composed of: the Rose Bowl, Sugar Bowl, Cotton Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, Orange Bowl and Peach Bowl. These Bowls, formerly known as the “BCS Bowls” will rotate, where each site will host a Semifinal Game every 3 years. The Championship Game will take place on the first Monday in January that is 6 or more days after the Semifinals Bowl Games. The new College Football Playoff National Championship Trophy is sponsored by Dr Pepper, which paid an estimated $35 million for the sponsorship rights through 2020.
My earlier articles have been based on what I project the opening AP top 25 to be this coming season. Today I am going to give what I believe will be the top 4 playoff teams and the 4 top tier Bowls that are the top tier bowls.
Here are my projected bowl games for the New Year’s Bowl.
