Cavaliers and David West Are Close To An Agreement

A source close to Legion Report has said that the Cleveland Cavaliers and David West are close to an agreement. West had a $12.6 million player option with the Indiana Pacers, but felt that the team was not title contenders. The Cavaliers are coming off a Finals appearance, but ended up running out of steam because of injuries to Anderson Varejao, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Love.

The Cavaliers have re-signed Kevin Love and Iman Shumpert. Tristan Thompson and the organization are having ongoing talks, while LeBron James will not sign until Thompson’s deal is complete. Matthew Dellavedova is expected to sign a multi-year deal worth 3-5 million. They are both represented by the same agent.

As far as David West, he went to college in Ohio at Xavier University. West is coming off a season where he averaged 11.7 points and 6.8 rebounds in 28.7 minutes per game in his 12th season. He will be coming off the bench and will “be the focal point” of the second unit.

The team still isn’t done with their wheeling and dealing. They are still weighing its options with Brendan Haywood’s contract and are reportedly very interested in a reunion with Mo Williams. If you haven’t looked at some of their trade partners, follow this link.
