MLB Prospect Action, Call-ups and News

2013-07-10

Erasmo Ramirez – “The Eraser” is expected to start Thursday vs. Boston. Another diaper dandy and a must add in fantasy formats.

Sonny Gray – Oakland will call up Sonny Gray for relief appearances with the potential of occasional starts. Gray has been nothing short of electric this season in AAA, posting 107/34 – K/BB over 102 IP. This addition would have been a whole lot more exciting if Gray was getting consistent starts.

Oscar Taveras – Still injured, still sitting with a high ankle sprain. Taveras won’t be playing in the Future’s Game either. If you own him in a keeper league you can’t drop this highly regarded prospect. It’s looking like he’ll be a August/September call-up.

Carlos Martinez – Joe Kelly is manning up the fifth rotation spot in St. Louis currently. Martinez showed us his capabilities earlier in the season out of the bullpen and could be an option as a starter later in the season.

Taijuan Walker – If/When Taijuan “Sky” Walker gets promoted to The Bigs, can’t imagine the Mariners will let him pitch over 155 innings. He’s at about 100 already. A September call-up is possible.

Grant Green – Oakland A’s just called up their 2B prospect. He’s hitting .318 with 11 HR, 49 RBI, 25 2B, 27 BB, 67 K, 4 SB in Triple-A.

Caleb Joseph – Bowie Baysox’ Caleb Joseph won the 2013 Eastern League AA  Home Run Derby. Check it out HERE!

Archie Bradley – Arizona’s GM said Bradley is an option for the 2013 season. When he gets the call he’s a must add in all fantasy formats.

Byron Buxton – The 19 year old is hitting  .400/.417/.553 through 18 games with Fort Myers. With Taveras still out Buxton is making a case to be the best prospect in the game.

Xander Bogaerts – Ranked 4th in Baseball America’s Mid-Season Prospect List.  Through 103 AAA plate appearances, the 20 year old has 5 HR’s and a 14:18  –  BB:K Ratio.

Kyle Zimmer – Royals No. 2 Prospect struck out 13 in 6 IP last night hitting 96-97 mph on the gun consistently.

Billy Hamilton – Successfully stole his 50th base on the season in his last game. A call up is imminent within the next month or so.

James Paxton – One of the Mariners Top Pitching Prospects continues to shine as he threw a complete game 5 hit shutout in AAA. The Mariners staff is looking very strong for the future with Felix, Ramirez, Walker, Hultzen and Paxton.
