Yesterday, we released an article about LeBron James returning to Cleveland in the coming days. It seems that it is all coming to fruition. Recent tweets and speculation have led to the determination that a decision could come sooner than expected, resulting in a reported “Moment of Truth Type” LeBron/Pat Riley face to face meeting. Marc Stein, ESPN, reported that Carmelo Anthony could make his decision on his free agency destination by Monday. LeBron James is expected to follow him in the coming days.
Twitter almost shut down due to news that Dan Gilbert’s plane was on its way to South Beach. However, that was quickly shut down when Gilbert tweeted this:
“. @LullOnSports:Cavs owner Dan Gilbert is currently en route to south Florida.” I am? Sorry folks but enjoying weather in my backyard today
— Dan Gilbert (@cavsdan) July 6, 2014
Everything started to subside, but remember – Dan is reportedly allowing his basketball operations more free reign as he is stepping aside; a little more than usual. Also, Dan said HE wasn’t on the plane. Action has since picked up when Tim Reynolds tweeted:
The plane that has carried Cavaliers executives to other airports on free agency missions in recent days has landed in South Florida. — Tim Reynolds (@ByTimReynolds) July 6, 2014
The question remained, who exactly was on the plane? Cleveland radio personality, Tony Rizzo, had the answer for us:
RUMOR: LBJ meeting with Dan and Z tonight. He’s “leaning” towards coming home. Btw, Tues is 4 year anniversary of the decision.

And now the national media has jumped on board.
Cleveland has replaced Miami as my frontrunner to land LeBron James… — Chris Broussard (@Chris_Broussard) July 7, 2014
Longer James has gone w/ minimal contact, more unsettled Bosh/Wade have become on Heat future. “They’re reading the tea leafs,” source says. — Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojYahooNBA) July 7, 2014
A lot is happening with this situation and happening fast. Feel free to catch up with the story on our previous article, LeBron James to Return to Cleveland. Stay tuned to @LegionReportNBA and @LegionReport for more updates in the coming hours.
