Best Minor League Baseball Jerseys

Part of the fun in minor league baseball is the different forms of entertainment beyond the actual baseball game.

Small towns throughout the country take pride in having minor league baseball in their respective cities, with in-game contests, dance-offs, mascot races, and more as ways to provide additional entertainment for fans.

Another fun thing minor league baseball does to keep things entertaining is most all teams have creative team names and uniform combinations.

Top Minor League Baseball Jerseys

Many minor league teams have fun alternate jerseys they wear throughout the season that are then sold to raise money for good causes, another reason minor league baseball is great.

Let’s take a look at some of the best:

1. Durham Bulls

Thanks to the movie Bull Durham, the Durham Bulls have one of the most iconic minor league baseball jerseys, so we give them the top spot.

2. Savannah Bananas

The Savannah Bananas have taken the country by storm and are basically a traveling baseball circus that provides a variety of in-game entertainment.

With that type of vibe, you have to have awesome uniforms. I am hoping I can make it to one of their games this year to check them out!

3. Wisconsin Timber Rattlers

The Timber Rattlers have always had awesome minor league uniform combinations and this “Udder Tuggers” uniform is hilarious. Although it may be embarrassing to wear as a player, you have to admit uniforms like this will help keep players loose and remind them they are playing a kid’s game while getting paid to do so! They also had a “Brat” theme uniform a few years back that was epic!

4. Corpus Cristi Hooks

Burgers and baseball? I can’t think of two better things, and these specialty jerseys from the Corpus Cristi Hooks land them in the top 3.

5. Asheville Tourists

I love the color scheme of the Asheville Tourists’ regular jerseys, and they always come up with epic specialty jerseys.

6. Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs

The Iron Pigs are one of the most famous minor league teams, and I love these bacon-themed jerseys.

I may have to look into getting one of these bacon hats!

7. State College Spike Fresh Prince Jerseys

The State College Spikes make the top 5 with these epic Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Jerseys.

If your having a rough day, taking in some minor-league baseball with a Fresh Prince-themed ballpark night will do the trick!

8. Rocket City Trash Pandas

The Rocket City Trash Pandas are my favorite minor league team name, and their jerseys don’t disappoint.

The creativity of some of these minor-league team names is off the charts.

9. Montgomery Biscuits

The Biscuits are one of the best teams historically in the Southern League. And their logos make me want to grab some breakfast.

10. Gary Southshore Railcats Office Jersey

The most creative award has to go to the Gary Southshore Railcats for their Office themed jerseys.

I had to glance at these to figure out it was all the same shirt since they are designed so well!

11. Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp

The Florida minor league team jerseys have some of the best color schemes and represent the region’s hobbies well.

Who doesn’t grow up wanting to play for the Jumbo Shrimp when they get older?

12. Great Falls Voyagers

The Great Falls Voyagers play in Montana and have a great team name and a bright color scheme. I love what they do with the jersey auctions to help with local charities.

13. San Jose Giants Star Wars Jersey

Star Wars night at San Jose Giants games are always a big hit. Some of the best names in Giant’s history made stops in San Jose, like Buster Posey, Tim Lincecum, and Pablo Sandoval.

14. Eugene Emeralds Lumberjacks

I love it when teams incorporate unique geography into their logo like the Eugene Emeralds do with their Lumberjack-themed jerseys.

15. Pensacola Blue Wahoos

The Blue Wahoos are another fantastic minor league team name, and these jerseys are sweet!

What better two combined hobbies than baseball and deep sea fishing?

16. Bowie Baysox Moon Landing

There are many inside jokes in baseball about hitters crushing balls into other orbits and these Moon Landing jerseys likely generate some entertaining puns from the Baysox broadcasters when they wear these unis.

17. Altoona Curve Mr Rogers

It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood when the Altoona Curve sport these epic Mr. Rogers alternate jerseys!

18. Hillsboro Hops

The Hops may have another one of my favorite minor league baseball uniform color schemes that seem to all work perfectly together.

19. Wilmington Blue Rocks

These Woodstock jerseys from the Wilmington Blue Rocks got a ton of media attention when they wore them a few years ago.

Let’s hope they continue to trot them out in future years.

20. El Paso Chihauhuas

I absolutely love these specialty day-themed jerseys from the El Paso Chihuahuas, as they changed their team name into the El Paso Margaritas for Cinco De Mayo.

21. Albuquerque Isotopes

If you haven’t tried New Mexico green chilis you are missing out and they go perfectly on a nice cheeseburger.

The Isotopes changed their name for a night to a local specialty meal in Albuquerque.

22. Iowa Cubs

The Cubs have one of the most classic looks in major league baseball and I love what the Iowa Cubs do with the pinstripes and modern Cub jersey top!

23. Omaha Storm Chasers

Here’s another Star Wars-themed jersey from the Omaha Storm Chasers that I like.

Most minor league teams around the country have a “Star Wars-themed night where you can get some cool swag, so check your local team’s schedules if you want to attend!

Final Word

Minor League Baseball is a staple for entertainment for non-major cities nationwide, and games are a blast to attend in person.

You will typically find some of the most creative at triple A baseball games since those teams have bigger budgets, but be sure to check out some A ball and Independent league baseball as well.

Each town and league has its own twist on keeping the game fun. I plan on making it to more parks around the country in the coming years, and I look forward to starting a new minor-league hat collection!
