Updated Friday, September 4, 2026. This is Florida’s official Week 1 depth chart, released Monday, August 31 ahead of the FAU opener. Jon Sumrall said every player knows why he is where he is on it. This page is updated with each weekly chart and after every game.
Sumrall’s first Florida depth chart is half new: 34 transfers and 24 freshmen on a 118 man roster, and eight transfers starting in Week 1, led by Georgia Tech quarterback Aaron Philo. The chart has very few ORs. The exceptions are the edge spot, where Kamran James and LJ McCray share the job, the H tight end, and one cornerback.

Position Breakdown
Quarterback. Philo beat out redshirt freshman Tramell Jones and was named the starter a week before the chart came out. Sumrall said the job is Philo’s at least for Week 1.
Running back. Jadan Baugh starts. Sumrall called the room’s depth “really competitive”; London Montgomery returns kicks.
Receiver. Dallas Wilson, Vernell Brown III and Auburn transfer Eric Singleton Jr. start. The interesting battle is behind Wilson, where Wake Forest transfer Micah Mays Jr. and Kahleil Jackson, leaner and healthier this year per Sumrall, share the second spot.
Tight end. James Madison transfer Lacota Dippre at the Y. Amir Jackson and Luke Harpring are co-starters at the H.
Offensive line. Named a week early: Bryce Lovett, Knijeah Harris, Georgia Tech transfer Harrison Moore, Penn State transfer TJ Shanahan Jr. and Stanford transfer Emeka Ugorji. Sumrall said the depth behind them is still competitive.
Defensive front. Brad White’s scheme lists a nose, a tackle, a JACK and an end. Brendan Bett, Jeremiah McCloud and freshman All SEC pick Jayden Woods (3.5 sacks in 2025) are set; the end spot is a three way rotation of Kamran James, LJ McCray and Emmanuel Oyebadejo. Sumrall called the defensive line “ridiculously competitive.”
Linebacker. Three starters: Miles Graham, Aaron Chiles and Jaden Robinson, with UCLA transfer Kanye Clark at the STAR hybrid spot.
Secondary. Ben Hanks III won one corner job outright; Cormani McClain and J’Vari Flowers split the other, with Dijon Johnson also expected to play. Baylor transfer DJ Coleman joins third year starter Bryce Thornton at safety.
Special teams. Sumrall brought both specialists from Tulane: Patrick Durkin handles kicks and kickoffs, Alec Clark punts and holds.
The Bottom Line
Florida’s first chart under Sumrall is clean: a named quarterback, a named line, and only three real shared jobs. The roster is half new, so the opener is as much a test of chemistry as talent.
