Why the Buyout Matters
LSU had just paid Brian Kelly his entire $54 million buyout, and Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry publicly attacked the structure of that contract in the weeks before the Kiffin hire. The athletic director who negotiated Kelly’s deal, Scott Woodward, resigned.
