Inactive lists are released 90 minutes before each kickoff. Every team declares seven players inactive from its 53-man roster, or eight if the team elevates a third quarterback under the emergency QB rule. How Inactives Work
Each team submits its inactive list to the league 90 minutes before kickoff. Teams dress a maximum of 48 players on game day, 47 if fewer than eight offensive linemen are active. A player listed as out on the final injury report is automatically inactive. A player listed as questionable may still be active, which is why the inactive list is the real answer.
Teams can also elevate up to two practice squad players per game, and those elevations are usually announced Saturday.
Teams With Nobody Carrying a Game Status
The Texans, Dolphins, Vikings and Commanders enter Week 1 with no players carrying an injury designation.
