Where the Season Stands
The Cup Series runs 36 points races, with the final 10 forming the playoffs. Television rights are split across the season: FOX and FS1 early including the Daytona 500, Amazon Prime Video through the middle including the Coca-Cola 600, TNT Sports and truTV in early summer, then NBC and USA Network for the late summer stretch and the playoffs. That is why today is on USA rather than a broadcast network.
Last Time Out
Christopher Bell won the Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington on September 6.
About the Track
World Wide Technology Raceway is a 1.25-mile oval outside St. Louis with an unusual shape: the corners are not symmetrical, and drivers have to adjust their line between turns one and two and turns three and four. It rewards cars that can rotate through a tight corner without losing drive off it.
The Result
The finishing order will be posted here once the checkered flag falls.
