How the Save Percentage Race Works
Saves divided by shots faced. It is the cleanest single number for how well a goalie is stopping the puck, though it needs a full workload before it means much.
| Save percentage | Saves divided by shots against, shootouts excluded |
| Elite | .920 or better over a full season |
| Very good | .912 to .919 |
| League average | Around .905 to .910 |
The board updates automatically through the season and switches to the playoff race in April. Early in the season the list moves a lot from night to night.
