Caitlin Clark Records: Every NCAA and WNBA Mark She Holds

Caitlin Clark holds records in two leagues. The headline one is the NCAA Division I career scoring record across both men’s and women’s basketball, but the list runs much deeper than that.

THE BIG ONE
3,951 career college points, the most in Division I history
Men’s or women’s, passing Pete Maravich on March 3, 2024

Firsts Nobody Else Has Done

She is the only player in Division I history to record 3,000 points and 1,000 assists in a career. She is the only player, men’s or women’s, to lead her conference in scoring and assists four seasons in a row. She was the first Division I player to reach 3,800 points, 1,000 assists and 950 rebounds, and the first to post back to back 1,000 point seasons.

She was a three time NCAA season scoring leader in 2021, 2022 and 2024, and a three time NCAA season assists leader from 2022 through 2024.

WNBA Records

Record Mark
Single-season assists 337 in 2024
Single-game assists 19
Rookie scoring 769 points
Rookie three pointers 122
First rookie with a triple-double Did it twice in 2024

All of those came in her rookie season, which is the part that gets overlooked. She set the outright league record for assists in a season, not just the rookie record, in her first year in the league.

The Scoring Record in Context

Pete Maravich scored 3,667 points at LSU from 1967 to 1970 in three seasons, with no three point line and no freshman eligibility. Clark passed him in her 130th game. Before that she passed Kelsey Plum’s NCAA women’s record of 3,527 and Lynette Woodard’s major college mark of 3,649, set at Kansas in the AIAW era.

One number still sits above hers. Pearl Moore scored 4,061 points at Francis Marion from 1975 to 1979 at the small college level under the AIAW, including 177 at a junior college.

The Bottom Line

The college scoring record is the one everyone knows. The WNBA single-season assist record, set as a rookie, may be the harder one to repeat.
