Texas Tech’s football stadium is called Galaxy Stadium as of the 2026 season. The name changed in July after AT&T declined to renew, ending a run of nearly 80 years in which the building carried the Jones name.

Why AT&T Left and Why the Jones Name Went With It
Hocutt said in February 2026 that AT&T would not renew when the naming agreement expired that June, though the company kept its telecommunications partnership with the university. At that point the expectation was that the building would simply revert to Jones Stadium for the season while Texas Tech looked for a corporate partner to start in 2027.
Galaxy moved faster than that. The July agreement took effect immediately for the 2026 season, which is why the stadium changed names between the end of last season and this one, and why plenty of listings and broadcasts still say Jones AT&T. The part that stung locally is that the Jones name disappeared entirely rather than being kept alongside the sponsor. Clifford B. Jones was a Texas Tech president whose original gift helped establish the football program, and his name had been on the stadium since 1947.
The field itself is still Cody Campbell Field, named for the former Red Raiders offensive lineman and Board of Regents chair who gave $25 million toward the south end zone project in 2021.
