D.J. Reed is officially questionable for the Lions’ Thursday Night Football game at Buffalo with a foot injury. The veteran cornerback was a limited participant in practice Tuesday and Wednesday, and Detroit did not rule him out on the final report, so it is a game time decision. Inactives post at about 6:45 p.m. ET, 90 minutes before the 8:15 kickoff.

Why It Matters
Reed is Detroit’s best option on DJ Moore, who had 100 receiving yards in his Bills debut. The Lions are already without safeties Brian Branch and Kerby Joseph, both on PUP until Week 5, and gave up 410 passing yards to New Orleans in Week 1. If Reed sits, Josh Allen gets an even thinner secondary to work against, and nickel corner Christian Izien, expected to make his season debut, becomes a bigger piece of the plan.
Detroit is already down two starting offensive linemen, Christian Mahogany and Blake Miller, so Reed is the one remaining call that swings the matchup. The Bills are favored by 4.5 to 5.5.
