How the First Round Works
All eight teams are seeded by record regardless of conference. The first round is best of three: the higher seed hosts Game 1 on Sunday, September 27, and a Game 3 if needed, with Game 2 at the lower seed. The winner of the 4 vs. 5 series meets the winner of 1 vs. 8 in the semifinals, which start October 4, and the No. 1 seed will be Minnesota or Golden State.
