The Vikings open at home against Green Bay and get their bye in Week 6 for the third straight season. The signature date is Week 11 in Mexico City, where Minnesota faces San Francisco on Sunday night at Estadio Banorte.

Kevin O’Connell’s fifth season gives Minnesota nine home dates and a schedule that front-loads the division: both Packers games and the first Lions game all land before Thanksgiving.

Week 16 is a designated matchup whose date and time are set later in the season, no later than immediately after Week 14. Week 18 details are announced only after Week 17 concludes. Prime-time games can move under flexible scheduling.

Games That Will Define the Vikings’ Season

Wk 11 at 49ers Sunday night at Estadio Banorte in Mexico City, with San Francisco as the designated home team. It comes on the back of a road trip to Green Bay the week before.
Wk 1 & 10 vs Packers Green Bay opens the season at U.S. Bank Stadium, and the rematch at Lambeau lands in Week 10. Both Border Battle games are done before Thanksgiving.
Wk 9 vs Bills Monday night against Buffalo, Minnesota’s only scheduled Monday appearance and its first prime-time game of the year.
Wk 15 vs Lions Sunday night against Detroit in December, with the Bears still to come in Week 18. The division could well be decided in these two home games.
A Week 6 Bye, Again
Third consecutive season with the break in Week 6. Minnesota plays five, rests, then runs twelve straight to close the regular season.
Frequent Fliers
After playing in both London and Dublin last season, the Mexico City trip gives the Vikings three international games in two years.
Two Home Games to Finish
Washington in Week 16 and Chicago in Week 18 are both at U.S. Bank Stadium, with only the Jets trip in between.

How the Schedule Sets Up

Minnesota gets the division out of the way early. Green Bay in Week 1, Chicago in Week 2, then two Florida trips and New Orleans before the bye. Come back for Indianapolis, Detroit on the road and Buffalo on Monday night, and the season’s shape should be clear by Halloween.

The Green Bay rematch and Mexico City in back-to-back weeks is the hardest two-week stretch. December softens with Atlanta and Carolina at home before a Thursday night in New England.
