Keelon Russell is officially Alabama’s starting quarterback, and almost everything else on Kalen DeBoer’s third depth chart comes with an OR. Four running backs are listed as co-starters, three tight ends share the Y spot, two kickers are competing, and the defense has OR designations at Bandit, tackle, Wolf and both safety depth spots. The chart also leaves off three injured players who are expected to miss Saturday: receiver Noah Rogers, running back AK Dear and defensive back Jireh Edwards.

Position Breakdown
Quarterback. Keelon Russell is listed alone at the top, the one spot with no OR. Austin Mack is the backup with Jett Thomalla third.
Running back. Daniel Hill, the leading returning rusher, gets top billing but shares it with Trae’shawn Brown, Kevin Riley and EJ Crowell as co-starters. The chart is telling you this is a committee, at least until AK Dear returns from injury.
Receiver. Ryan Coleman-Williams, Rico Scott and Lotzeir Brooks start. Scott is in the lineup because transfer Noah Rogers is still recovering and off the chart entirely. Derek Meadows, Cederian Morgan and Tyler Henderson are the second unit.
Tight end. A three way OR at the Y between Kaleb Edwards, Josh Ford and Danny Lewis Jr. Marshall Pritchett is the H.
Offensive line. Jackson Lloyd at left tackle, Racin Delgatty at center, Michael Carroll at right guard and Jayvin James at right tackle are set. Left guard is William Sanders OR Mal Waldrep Jr.
Defensive front. Alabama lists its front by role: Bandit, nose, tackle and Wolf. Devan Thompkins appears twice, at Bandit and at tackle, which means he plays regardless of which OR wins. Terrance Green is the nose, Yhonzae Pierre the Wolf edge rusher.
Linebacker. Caleb Woodson at Stinger and Luke Metz at Mike, with QB Reese and Xavier Griffin behind them.
Secondary. Zabien Brown and Dijon Lee Jr. at corner, Bray Hubbard and Keon Sabb at safety, Red Morgan at the Husky nickel spot. Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. is listed as a backup at two positions. Jireh Edwards is out injured and not on the chart.
Special teams. The kicker job is still open between Lorcan Quinn and Conor Talty; DeBoer said on the SEC coaches call that the competition would continue into game week. Alex Asparuhov punts and holds.

Alabama has its quarterback, its offensive line and its corners settled. Running back, tight end, the defensive front and the kicker are all going to be decided on the field, starting Saturday against East Carolina.
