Updated Saturday, September 5, 2026.
The WNBA is on pause for two weeks because its best players are in Berlin. The 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup runs September 4 to 13, and the United States is chasing a fifth straight world title with a roster that includes Caitlin Clark, Paige Bueckers and Angel Reese in their first major international tournament. The Americans have not lost a World Cup or Olympic game since the 2006 semifinals, a 66 game run.
| US TV | TNT and truTV carry 17 of the 36 games, including every Team USA game and all knockout games |
| Streaming | HBO Max streams all 36 games; Courtside 1891 via DAZN also has every game |
| Time difference | Berlin is six hours ahead of Eastern time, so most games tip in the U.S. morning or early afternoon |
| USA head coach | Kara Lawson |
| Final | Sunday, September 13, 2 p.m. ET on TNT |

How the Tournament Works
The field is back to 16 teams for the first time since 2018, split into four groups of four. Group play runs September 4 to 7. Each group winner goes straight to the quarterfinals on September 10. The second and third place teams in each group drop into a single elimination qualifying round on September 8 and 9 for the other four quarterfinal spots. Semifinals are September 12 and the medal games are September 13. The champion also earns a direct spot in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, which the U.S. already has as host.
Team USA Roster
Aliyah Boston, Paige Bueckers, Sonia Citron, Caitlin Clark, Napheesa Collier, Kahleah Copper, Chelsea Gray, Rhyne Howard, Kiki Iriafen, Angel Reese, Breanna Stewart and Jackie Young. Stewart is the captain. A’ja Wilson is not on the roster. The WNBA regular season resumes September 17; the frozen table is on our WNBA standings page.
The Bottom Line
The U.S. opened with a 33 point win over China and plays Italy on Sunday at 2:45 p.m. ET, then Czechia on Monday at the same time, both on TNT or truTV with everything streaming on HBO Max. Win the group and the Americans skip straight to the September 10 quarterfinals. The final is Sunday, September 13 at 2 p.m. ET on TNT, and a fifth consecutive world title would extend a winning streak that started in 2006.
