He forced 89 missed tackles and gained more than 1,000 yards after contact in 2025, and played all 15 games.
The Season That Made Him
Lacy carried the ball 23 times in six games as a true freshman at Missouri. One year later he led the entire FBS in carries and set the Ole Miss single season record for rushing touchdowns. He had six 100 yard games, including 224 yards against Florida in November, and he scored twice in the fourth quarter against Georgia in the Sugar Bowl after a first half fumble was returned for a touchdown. He hurt his shoulder in the first round playoff win over Tulane and played through it.
Why He Stayed
When Lane Kiffin left for LSU he took Ole Miss running backs coach Kevin Smith with him and was expected to chase Lacy in the portal with a large offer. Ole Miss put together what was reported as a historic package for a running back and kept him, along with Trinidad Chambliss, kicker Lucas Carneiro and pass rusher Princewill Umanmielen. That retention is the main reason Ole Miss opened 2026 in the top 15 despite the coaching change.
