LSU’s starting quarterback went on the SEC availability report Wednesday night as doubtful with soreness in his throwing shoulder, did not throw in Wednesday’s practice, and was upgraded to questionable on Thursday. Lane Kiffin did not mention the injury Monday or on his Thursday radio show. Ole Miss staffers told ESPN’s Pete Thamel they are not convinced the listing is sincere. The SEC’s next report comes Friday night, and LSU must declare him available, out or a game time decision on Saturday.

If Leavitt Cannot Go
Landen Clark, an Elon transfer who was the 2025 CAA Co-Offensive Rookie of the Year with 18 passing and 11 rushing touchdowns, has been the first quarterback off the bench in both games even though he is listed third on the depth chart. Freshman Husan Longstreet, a USC transfer, is the other option. Leavitt missed seven games over his two seasons at Arizona State.
Ole Miss
Ole Miss enters the week comparatively healthy. Running back Kewan Lacy played through a thigh bruise last week and ran for 87 yards and two touchdowns against Charlotte. Trinidad Chambliss was 23 of 26 for 225 yards. Ole Miss’s Friday designations will be added here when the SEC posts them.
What the Designations Mean
The SEC’s availability report uses four labels. Probable means expected to play. Questionable means uncertain to play due to injury or condition. Doubtful means unlikely to play due to significant concerns, roughly a one in four chance. Out means not playing. The policy prohibits gamesmanship intended to hide a player’s true status, with penalties from $25,000 to $100,000 in football and possible accountability measures for head coaches, and it asks schools to take extra care with high profile players such as starting quarterbacks.
