How to Watch

Most games stream on MLB.com and the MLB App. The Fall Stars Game and the championship game air nationally on MLB Network. Tickets are sold at each ballpark’s box office on game day, and the league has long been one of the most affordable ways to see future big leaguers up close.

Why It Matters

The league, which began in 1992, is where organizations send prospects who need extra at bats or innings, including players returning from injury. Past AFL MVPs include Nolan Arenado (2011), Kris Bryant (2013) and Ronald Acuña Jr. (2017), and last year’s MVP, Kevin McGonigle of the Tigers, is a leading AL Rookie of the Year candidate this season.
