How the Rankings Work
ATP points run on a rolling 52-week window rather than a calendar season. Every Monday, the points a player earned in the corresponding week a year ago drop off and are replaced by whatever they earned this year. That is why the rankings always span parts of two seasons.

Rankings vs. the Race
These are not the same list as the ATP Race. The rankings roll over the previous 52 weeks and always straddle two seasons. The Race counts only points earned since January of the current calendar year, and it decides who qualifies for the season-ending Finals.
In January the two lists look completely different. By November they converge.
What the Table Says Right Now
Sinner’s 12,800 is not just a lead, it is a different tier. Zverev on 7,790 and Alcaraz on 7,160 are effectively competing with each other rather than with the No. 1.
Alcaraz’s slide to third is the notable movement — he was second as recently as earlier this month. Zverev, Flavio Cobolli and Alex de Minaur all climbed inside the top 10 in the most recent update, while Medvedev, Ben Shelton and Taylor Fritz lost ground.
