Games That Will Decide Auburn’s Season

Sept 19 vs Florida The Gators visit Jordan-Hare for the first time since 2011, in a matchup of first-year head coaches. A 7 p.m. kickoff on the Plains is as good a stage as Golesh will get in September.
Oct 3 at Tennessee Golesh returns to Knoxville, where he was Josh Heupel’s offensive coordinator from 2021-22. Auburn’s first trip to Neyland since 2013, against a ranked Vols team.
Oct 24 vs LSU A top-15 LSU team at Jordan-Hare, wedged between road trips to Georgia and Ole Miss. The most winnable game in Auburn’s hardest month.
Nov 28 at Alabama The Iron Bowl in Tuscaloosa closes the year, against a ranked Alabama team in Kalen DeBoer’s third season. Golesh’s first taste of the rivalry.
A Neutral-Site Opener by Design
Baylor was originally a home-and-home. It moved to Mercedes-Benz Stadium to give Auburn players structured, approved NIL opportunities around the Aflac Kickoff Game.
Three Permanent Rivals
Under the nine-game SEC format, Auburn’s annual opponents are Alabama, Georgia, and Vanderbilt. The Commodores have won the last two to lead the series 23-22-1.
A Back-Loaded Slate
Five of Auburn’s final seven games are away from Jordan-Hare. Georgia has won nine straight in the series, tying the record for the longest streak by either side.

How the Schedule Sets Up

The first month is where Golesh can bank wins: Baylor on a neutral field, Southern Miss at home, then Florida and Vanderbilt in Jordan-Hare. Three of those four are winnable, and a 3-1 start would change the tone of the entire season. October is the problem — at Tennessee, a bye, at Georgia, LSU at home, at Ole Miss.
