Best College Baseball Stadiums

College baseball is gaining popularity as more games are broadcast on TV throughout the season.

When I was growing up, you would typically only see the regionals and College World Series games on ESPN, and now almost every Division 1 game can be watched!

With the additional attention on the game, colleges are pouring more money into their baseball stadiums, and many stadiums are almost as scenic as MLB stadiums.

Many college baseball programs have announced new stadium renovation plans that will be taking place in the next couple of years so it will be fun to keep track of all the sweet new facilities!

Top College Baseball Stadiums

Let’s take a look at some of my favorite college baseball stadiums throughout the country:

1. Swayze Field, Ole Miss

Capacity:10,715

Ole Miss has emerged as one of the top baseball programs in the country in the last decade and brought home the National Title in 2022.

Ole Miss has made gradual improvements to their stadium over the years and recently announced a $40 Million investment into additional improvements around the park.

2. Dudy Noble Field, Mississippi State

Capacity: 15,000

Dudy Noble was my favorite college field until the recent remodel, which took away one of my favorite parts of the ballpark, the left field lounge.

The left field lounge was made up of fans that would park trucks, RV’s and build makeshift decks to sit along the left field wall while they BBQ and enjoy the game.

While the new $68 million renovation gives Mississippi State the best modern facilities in college baseball, I wish they would have left the left field lounge alone!

3. Eddy Field Stadium, Pepperdine

Capacity: 2000

With a view of the mountains behind home plate and a view of the Pacific Ocean past the outfield, Pepperdine has the best natural beauty of any college baseball field in the country.

The Waves were a top program in the 90s winning a National Title in 1992 and with these types of views they should be a top 20 program every year!

4. Carroll Land Stadium, Point Loma University

Capacity: 300

Point Loma is a Division 2 Program in San Diego, and its baseball field backs right up to the Pacific Ocean, helping it land in the top 4.

The only downside of having a field like this is losing balls into the ocean but the tradeoff of having the best scenery of arguably any baseball field at any level is totally worth it!

5. Beaver Field, Appalachian State

Capacity: 1000

If the ocean isn’t your thing, perhaps the rolling hills and trees surrounding the App State baseball field in Boone, North Carolina, would be your jam.

While App State isn’t known for having a great baseball program, if I were the head coach, I would be sending out this photo to every player! Instead of running on the field for conditioning work the strength coach can take the players out into the woods and get some hiking in!

6. Alex Box Stadium, LSU

Capacity:10,326

If you’re looking to attend a rowdy baseball game with a great field, Alex Box Stadium at LSU is definitely one you should check out.

The fans in Baton Rouge take their baseball seriously, and the noise level coming out of the stadium is tops in college baseball.

7. Chapman Field, BYU

Capacity: 2,204

BYU is known for its football program, but its baseball stadium is jaw-dropping and backs right up against the Wasatch Mountains.

With an elevation of 4,000 feet above sea level, balls must fly out of this field and be a sight to see as they take off toward the mountain range.

8. UFCU Disch-Falk Field, Texas

Capacity:  6,756

Texas played in the heart of Austin, and Disch Falk Field is an iconic college field that has been home to some of the all-time college greats like Roger Clemons.

9. Hawkins Field, Vanderbilt

Capacity: 3,700

Vanderbilt is another SEC program with a great baseball field that is worth checking out.

The field backs up right against the football stadium, the playing surface is perfect, and a big green monster wall in left field gives it Fenway Park vibes.

Vanderbilt seems to be in the top 10 every year, and with a field like this, it’s easy to see why!

10. Wagner College Stadium

Wagner is a Division 1 program that plays in the Northeastern Conference, and the field has an amazing backdrop of the New York City skyline.

As the coach tweets above, its tough to have a bad day when you get to take in these views every day while playing the game of baseball!

11. Reckling Park, Rice

Capacity: 7000

Rice is another sleeping giant in college baseball looking to return to its winning ways from the 90s and early 2000s when they were a powerhouse program.

Their stadium has epic views of the Houston skyline, and with all of the high school baseball talent in Texas, keep an eye on Rice to get back into contention soon.

12. Condron Family Park, Florida Gators

Capacity: 7000

Florida’s field is one of my favorites because of all of the grass surrounding the sides and outfield that fans can stretch out on and relax. Baseball games can get long if you sit in one seat for too long, and this setup at Florida provides a great atmosphere for fans to stretch out, relax and take in the game at different spots throughout the ballpark.

13. Russ Chandler Stadium, Georgia Tech

Capacity: 3,718

Georgia Tech is another big-time baseball program based in a big city that did a great job incorporating the Atlanta skyline.

14. Baum-Walker Stadium, Arkansas Baseball

Capacity: 10,737

Arkansas takes baseball very seriously and is another program that is in the top 10 almost every year. Like Florida, they have a ton of space for fans to spread out throughout the stadium, and I love their left field hill that fans can stretch out on.

15. Goss Stadium, Oregon State

Capacity: 3,587

Oregon State has emerged as a baseball powerhouse in the last couple of decades, and they consistently attract some of the nation’s best players to Corvallis.

The baseball field is gorgeous and is surrounded by tall trees, and fans sit right on top of the field. If you ever are up in the Pacific Northwest, stopping in Corvallis is well worth the visit!

16. Plainsman Park, Auburn

Capacity: 4,096

Plainsman Park down at Auburn is another must-see SEC baseball stadium. Like Vandy, they have a big green monster in left field, a big league scoreboard, and plenty of places around the stadium for fans to sit on the surrounding hills.

17. Blue Bell Park, Texas A&M

Capacity: 6,100

Texas A&M has put big-time money into the baseball program recently and has an awesome baseball facility. The backdrop of the field overlooks the football stadium

18. O’brate Stadium, Oklahoma State

Capacity: 3,500

Oklahoma State has a great baseball tradition and recently underwent a major upgrade to their baseball facilities.

Boone Pickens was an oil tycoon that loved the Cowboys and donated a ton of money to the sports programs over the years.

19. TD Ameritrade Park, Creighton

Capacity: 24,000

Creighton plays most of their home games at TD Ameritrade Park, which is the home of the College World Series in Omaha.  It’s tough not to include the Bluejays when they play at the park that every team dreams of getting to at some point!

20. Camden Athletic Complex, Rutgers-Camden

Capacity: 3,000

Rutgers Camden is a smaller school with one of my favorite backdrops of any college baseball stadium. It overlooks not only a massive bridge but also has a city skyline view out in left field.

21. Boshamer Stadium, North Carolina

Capacity: 4,100

North Carolina has one of the best college baseball programs in history and one of the best stadiums. Boshamer Stadium is surrounded by trees in the outfield and is in the middle of one of the best college campuses in the country.

22. Lupton Stadium,TCU

Capacity: 4,500

TCU has emerged in the last decade as one of the best college baseball programs in the country and they have some of the best baseball facilities.

23. Doug Kingsmore Stadium, Clemson

Capacity: 6,272

Clemson is one of the few college teams with a big enough fan base to warrant outfield stadium-style seating, and I love the look of their ballpark.

24. Founders Park, South Carolina

Capacity: 8,242

The Gamecocks are another South Carolina school that takes baseball very seriously. Founders Park is a beauty and worth checking out!

 Final Word

It’s great to see college baseball growing in popularity.

I am sure I will have to update this list frequently as schools continue to invest massively into their baseball stadiums.

Several top programs are in the process of construction on new baseball facilities, and many will eventually rival some of the top minor league stadiums!
