The Rematch
These programs had never met until last season’s opener in Boulder, which Georgia Tech won 27-20. This is the return leg, moved up from Saturday to headline Thursday night.
Colorado has never played at Bobby Dodd Stadium. Georgia Tech has won 10 of its last 11 there.
Georgia Tech Enters as the Favourite
Brent Key’s fourth season begins after a 9-4 record and a No. 24 final ranking. Models give the Yellow Jackets roughly a 70 percent chance, which reflects both home field and the fact they won the first meeting on the road.
Seven home games is Tech’s most since 2019, and this opens the run. Our Georgia Tech schedule has the full season.
How to Watch
ESPN carries it nationally. Cord-cutters need a service with ESPN — Fubo, YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, DirecTV Stream or Sling Orange all work, and several offer free trials. The ESPN App streams it for authenticated subscribers.
Thursday’s other games are all later or smaller: Missouri hosts Arkansas-Pine Bluff at 8 on SEC Network, with Idaho at Utah and UAB at Illinois both at 9. Our Week 1 schedule covers the rest.
The Bottom Line
Colorado at Georgia Tech kicks off 8:00 p.m. ET Thursday, September 3 on ESPN from Bobby Dodd Stadium. It is the first Power Four game of the season and a rematch of last year’s opener, which Georgia Tech won in Boulder.
