Behind him, Russell and Lewis Hamilton are dead level on 183 points — separated only by Russell’s superior race results.

Antonelli’s Season
Six wins from 12 rounds, including a run of four consecutive victories through the middle of the season. He has six pole positions and ten podiums, and led the championship from the second round onward.
The 59-point cushion is substantial but not decisive with 283 still available. Two retirements would put him back in a fight; he has had one non-scoring weekend all year.
The Mercedes-Ferrari Battle Behind
Russell and Hamilton arriving at the Dutch Grand Prix tied on 183 points is the season’s neatest subplot. Russell has one win, Hamilton one, and neither has been able to string together the consistency Antonelli has managed.
Lando Norris won at Zandvoort, his second victory of the year, and sits fourth on 159. Charles Leclerc is fifth on 155. The gap from second to fifth is 28 points — roughly one strong weekend.
Verstappen’s Year
Max Verstappen is sixth on 112 points, with four retirements in 12 races and no wins. That is the most striking line in the table given his recent history, and it reflects a season where reliability rather than pace has defined his campaign.
What’s Left
Eleven rounds remain, comprising 11 Grands Prix and one sprint, worth 283 points. The season was reduced from 24 races to 23 after the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix were cancelled. The next round is the Italian Grand Prix at Monza on 6 September.
Two new features on the calendar this year: a Madrid Grand Prix, the first Formula 1 race held on the streets of the Spanish capital, and the final running of the Dutch Grand Prix, which organizers could no longer afford to host.
