Dante Moore is out indefinitely with a concussion after an illegal hit by USC linebacker Desman Stephens II in Oregon’s 41 to 27 win at the Coliseum on Saturday, September 26. Moore was hit above the shoulders while sliding after an 11 yard scramble in the second quarter, was treated on the field for about 15 minutes, and was taken by ambulance to LA General Medical Center. Oregon said Sunday that his MRI and CT scans came back clean and he suffered no additional injuries. The Ducks have a bye this week, so the first game he could miss is against UCLA, and coach Dan Lanning said the program will move forward with an abundance of caution.

What Moore and Lanning Have Said
Moore posted on Instagram Monday that the past two days had been very difficult but that he had made progress, and that he would be back soon. Lanning called the hit a disgusting play after the game, and Oregon’s Sunday statement said every concussion is different and the decision on his return will be made with an abundance of caution. The bye week gives him extra time to clear the concussion protocol before the UCLA game.
His Season Before the Injury
Moore, who passed on the NFL Draft in January to return to Oregon, completed 68.5 percent of his passes for 849 yards and nine touchdowns with no interceptions in the Ducks’ first three games, and was 8 of 10 for 77 yards against USC before he was hurt.
