Update, Sunday: Joe Burrow is active and starting at Houston. He carried no injury designation into the weekend and is not on the inactive list.
Joe Burrow said all week that he was playing Sunday. The Bengals quarterback was a limited participant in Wednesday’s practice with a back injury, but he told reporters afterward that he plans to start against the Texans in Houston. Barring a setback later in the week, that is the expectation; Friday’s injury report will carry the official designation.
The Status
| Player | Joe Burrow, QB, Cincinnati Bengals |
| Injury | Back |
| Practice | Limited Wednesday |
| His words | Plans to play |
| Game | Sunday, Sept. 20 at Houston, 1 p.m. ET on CBS |
What It Means
Cincinnati opened with a 33-27 win over Tampa Bay and is a 3 point underdog in Houston, where the Texans are coming off a 36-31 loss to Buffalo. Pass rusher Shemar Stewart (knee) was a full participant, so the Bengals’ report is otherwise clean. On the Houston side, Jadeveon Clowney (knee) and Jake Hummel (groin) missed practice and Nico Collins (hamstring) was limited. As long as Burrow plays, Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins stay in fantasy lineups.
