Beaver Stadium Is the Story
Penn State’s home is the second-largest stadium in the United States, behind only Michigan. Even for an afternoon non-conference opener it will hold more than 100,000 people.
Marshall’s entire home stadium seats roughly a quarter of that. The adjustment is real for a visiting Group of Five roster, and it usually shows early.
Marshall’s Track Record
The Thundering Herd have a genuine history of winning games like this — they have taken down Power Four opponents on the road in recent seasons, often when the home team treated the fixture as a formality.
Penn State will not make that mistake in week one, but Marshall is a better draw than the name recognition suggests.
