Oregon beat Portland State 84-0 on Friday night, six days after losing at Oklahoma State, and the score was not the only number that mattered. It was the most points and the largest margin of victory in the program’s modern era, the biggest margin ever at Autzen Stadium, and the most touchdowns the Ducks have scored in a game.

Why It Happened and What It Does Not Prove
Dan Lanning said it plainly afterward: Oregon has a better team, and this is what it should look like when the Ducks execute. The result was about flushing the Oklahoma State loss rather than about Portland State, a winless Big Sky team an hour down the interstate that was there for the paycheck. Oregon kept starters in past 63-0 before emptying the bench.
What it does not tell you is whether Oregon has fixed anything. The Oklahoma State loss exposed a defense that gave up 39 points, and Portland State was never going to test that. The real answer comes next Saturday at No. 12 USC, Oregon’s first ranked opponent of the year, at 7:30 p.m. ET in Los Angeles. Friday’s live results are on our Portland State vs. Oregon score page, and the full season is on the Oregon schedule.
The Bottom Line
Oregon’s 84-0 win set modern-era program records for points and margin, the largest margin ever at Autzen, and the most touchdowns in school history. It ranks third all time for margin, and the previous modern marks came against the same opponent in 2023.
