How the Bracket Works
Eight teams reach the playoffs and they are seeded one through eight by overall record rather than by conference. That matters more than it sounds: two teams from the same conference can meet in the first round, and a strong conference does not cost anyone a spot.
The first round is a best of three, with the higher seed hosting games one and two. Semifinals are best of five and the Finals are best of seven, both with a two two one format for home court.
Why the Last Week Matters
Seeding decides two things: who you draw in the first round and whether you open at home. Teams bunched in the middle of the bracket can move two or three spots in the final days, which changes the matchup entirely. The live table above is the fastest way to see where that stands.
