The Pac-12 returns in 2026 as an eight team football conference, two years after 10 of its 12 members left for the Big Ten, Big 12 and ACC. Holdovers Oregon State and Washington State were joined on July 1 by Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, San Diego State and Utah State from the Mountain West and Texas State from the Sun Belt, and the conference championship game returns in December. Gonzaga joined in other sports but does not play football.
