Navy Football Schedule 2026: Full Midshipmen Slate, Dates, TV, and Key Games

Navy follows a school record tying 11-2 season with a schedule that sends the Midshipmen away from Annapolis for a month. After the Towson opener, Navy plays at Florida Atlantic, at UAB on a Friday night, and at Air Force for the first leg of the Commander in Chief’s Trophy before returning home Oct. 10. Notre Dame is at Gillette Stadium on Halloween, and the year ends where it always does, against Army, this time at MetLife Stadium on Dec. 12.

Brian Newberry is in his fourth season. The 2025 Mids beat Army and Air Force to keep the Commander in Chief’s Trophy for a second straight year, won the Lambert Trophy as the best team in the East for the first time since 1963, and beat Cincinnati in the Liberty Bowl. Twelve starters and 46 letter winners return.

Games That Will Define the Midshipmen’s Season

Oct 3 at Air Force The first leg of the Commander in Chief’s Trophy, on CBS at 10 AM Mountain. Navy won 34-31 in Annapolis last year and has taken two straight in the series. All three academy games air on CBS again this season.
Oct 24 vs North Texas Homecoming against the team that handed Navy one of its two losses in 2025. North Texas went 12-2 last season.
Oct 31 vs Notre Dame The 99th meeting in the series, at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough on ABC. Navy has not beaten the Irish since 2016 in Jacksonville, and it comes in the seventh straight week without a bye.
Dec 12 vs Army The 127th Army Navy Game, at MetLife for the first time since 2021, a game Navy won 17-13. The Mids are 4-1 against Army in East Rutherford and have won two straight in the series after last year’s 17-16 win in Baltimore.
A Month Away From Annapolis
Three straight road games (Florida Atlantic, UAB, Air Force) split by the Sept 19 bye means Navy does not play at home between Sept 5 and Oct 10. The Boca Raton trip is the first since 2017.
Seven Straight Weeks
From UAB on Sept 25 through Temple on Nov 7, Navy plays seven consecutive weeks with Air Force and Notre Dame inside that stretch. The Nov 14 bye comes right before Senior Day.
Memphis, Every Year Since 2015
Nov 21 is the 13th straight meeting with Memphis since Navy joined the league. Memphis leads 6-5, but Navy has won the last two, including a 56-44 shootout in 2024. The Oct 17 game at UTSA is the first ever between the schools.

How the Schedule Sets Up

The front half is about surviving the road. If the Mids come home from Colorado Springs with the first leg of the trophy in hand, the October home dates against Tulsa and North Texas set up the Notre Dame showcase. The back half is friendlier: Temple and Memphis in Annapolis, a bye, Charlotte, and then two weeks to prepare for Army.

The Bottom Line

Five home games, two neutral site games, two byes, and a chance at a third straight Commander in Chief’s Trophy. Newberry’s fourth team returns 12 starters from an 11 win season, and the schedule gives it Air Force, Notre Dame and Army on three separate national CBS and ABC windows.
