What Time Does the Game Start Tonight?
Kickoff is 8:20 p.m. ET, which is 5:20 p.m. local time in Seattle. NBC’s coverage starts well before that. The NFL Kickoff Special begins at 7 p.m. ET with Maria Taylor hosting alongside Mike Tomlin, Jason Garrett, Devin McCourty and Mike Florio, so if you tune in at 7 you are getting pregame, not football. The banner ceremony runs in the window between the pregame show and kickoff.
How to Watch Without Cable
NBC is a broadcast network, not a cable channel, so this is one of the easier NFL games of the year to watch without a TV package.
Peacock carries NBC’s full coverage and is the simplest option. NFL+ also carries it, though on phones and tablets rather than a TV. An antenna works and costs nothing after you buy it, since NBC broadcasts over the air in every major market. YouTube TV, Hulu Live, Fubo, Sling and DirecTV Stream all carry NBC and all offer free trials, which is worth knowing if you only need one night.
Is the Game on Anywhere Else?
Spanish language coverage is on Telemundo and Universo, and also streams on Peacock. In the Boston market the game airs on the local NBC affiliate, as it does everywhere else, because this is a national broadcast rather than a regional one. There is no separate cable simulcast. If you are away from a screen, Westwood One has the national radio call.
One note if you go looking elsewhere for the broadcast team: the Seahawks’ own site listed Jim Nantz on play by play. That is not right. Nantz calls games for CBS, and NBC has Mike Tirico on this one.
Why Is This Game on a Wednesday?
The league moved the opener up a day to give its first ever regular season game in Australia its own night on Thursday. The full explanation is on our Wednesday opener page.

The Bottom Line
NBC, 8:20 p.m. ET tonight. Peacock or NFL+ if you do not have a TV, an antenna if you do not want to pay for one, and Telemundo if you want the Spanish call.
