Two Teams Arriving From Opposite Directions
Oklahoma looked exactly like a top 15 team should against overmatched opposition, winning 51-0 without needing a fourth quarter. Michigan won by one point at home against a MAC team and required an officiating decision to put a second back on the clock, then a 47 yard heave into the end zone, to do it.
Kyle Whittingham is two games into his tenure in Ann Arbor and the building is uneasy. A top 15 road team walking into that environment at noon is a genuinely difficult opening test.
The Case for Michigan
Michigan Stadium at noon is still Michigan Stadium, and a one point escape is still a win. Teams that survive an early scare often clean up quickly, and Oklahoma has not yet been asked a question by anybody. A 51-0 result against UTEP tells you very little about how the Sooners handle a hostile road crowd.
