What to Watch
Tampa Bay has led this division for most of the summer with New York the only realistic challenger. The current margin is in the table above, and with only a couple of weeks left it would take a long Rays slide to change the outcome.
The more realistic prize for New York and Boston is seeding. Both currently hold wild card spots, and the difference between the top wild card and the third is home field in a best of three series.
Toronto is the division’s live outsider, chasing Cleveland for the last wild card spot rather than the division itself. Baltimore is playing out the season.
